The University of Houston Law Center (UHLC) Career Development Office invites the Hispanic Bar Association of Houston to participate in our inaugural “Meet Me at the Bar (Association)” Learning Event for incoming 1L students

Date: Tuesday, August 18, 2026

Time: 11:30 am to 1:00 pm (Lunch included)

Location: The University of Houston Law Center, 4170 Martin Luther King Boulevard, Houston, TX, 77204-6060(Parking validation will be provided)

This program aims to introduce students to the legal profession by encouraging engagement with bar associations, career exploration, and relationship-building with attorneys throughout the Houston legal community.   We invite your organization to join us at the event by recruiting attorneys from a cross-section of practice settings and specialties who enjoy student outreach and mentoring to attend the learning event.

Event Details 

During the lunch, participating attorneys will be asked to share:

  • a brief overview of the organization,
  • ways students can engage with the organization,
  • benefits of student membership,
  • general information about their practice area and insight into their practice setting, and
  • advice on building a legal career starting from day one of law school.

We welcome attorneys from a variety of sections/practice areas, such as health law, construction, regulatory affair, and energy, and from practice settings, including large, midsize, and small firms; solo practitioners; in-house counsel; government and other public sector attorneys and members of the judiciary.
