HisBA Mentoring Program
The HisBA Mentorship Program seeks to foster meaningful relationships and build a strong network between experienced legal professionals and junior attorneys or law students.
The Hispanic Bar Association of Houston is excited to launch the 2026–2027 HisBA Mentorship Program, connecting experienced attorneys with law students and new lawyers as they navigate law school, the bar exam, and the early years of legal practice.
Whether you are ready to share your experience or seeking guidance along your legal journey, this program is a meaningful opportunity to build relationships, grow professionally, and strengthen our legal community.

Make the most of your match
Pairings were announced at the kick-off. Here is how to get the most out of the year ahead.
For mentees
- Reach out to your mentor within the first two weeks and set up your first meeting.
- Come with goals: classes, clerkships, bar prep, practice areas, or the job search.
- Keep the momentum. A short check-in once a month goes a long way.
- Invite your mentor to a HisBA event. Shared events are the easiest way to stay connected.
For mentors
- Set a regular rhythm with your mentee, such as a monthly coffee, call, or video chat.
- Share your path, including the detours. Those are often the most useful stories.
- Open doors where you can: introductions, a court or office visit, a CLE invitation.
- Mentors who said yes to a Mentorship Circle on the sign-up form will hear from us with details.
